  • Technically Easy is Moving to WordPress

After some careful thought I decided to convert Technically Easy from a Blogger blog to a WordPress blog. I had been mulling this conversion over for some time, but have put off doing it. I have liked using Blogger because of the ease of its use. Now i think it is time for me to move to a different platform.

The conversion will not take place immediately, but over a period of time. Until the conversion is complete, Technically Easy will still be housed at Blogger. I will elaborate more on my thoughts regarding the conversion in this post.

  • How I Converted from Blogger to WordPress

How I Converted from Blogger to WordPress

About two weeks ago I decided to take the plunge and move Technically Easy to WordPress. At the time this blog was hosted on Blogger, and I wanted more control over all aspects of my blog.

As I began to learn WordPress, and thought about all that I needed to do I was overwhelmed. I had never attempted moving a Blogger blog to WordPress before so I had no idea what I was in for. Today, however, I realized that it wasn’t complicated or difficult, and can now say Technically Easy is a WordPress blog. This post talks about how I did it.

  • Do You Provide Private Advertising on Your Site?

When I switched over to WordPress from Blogger I wanted to explore the option of private advertising. I have explored, and continue to do so, other means of advertising on my blog, but have never really tried private advertising.

To start this venture I needed a template that could support advertising, and a means of managing the ads. Luckily I found both. In this post I’ll explain the different advertising methods I have used and how private advertising is different.

In this post I will finish off with moving your blog to WordPress, pointing the two domain names to your WordPress blog, and then preventing Google from thinking your two domains contain duplicate content.

  • Scanning Old Photos? Get VueScan

    Scanning Old Photos? Get VueScan

I have been archiving some of the old photos, negatives, and slides that are lying around my house. As with most people, many are located in unlabelled boxes that are not organized in any way. Besides being unorganized, the other issue is that there are no safe copies of the originals, so if I was to lose my house for some reason, such as a fire, then all these memories would be lost.

I decided to scan in as many of these originals as I can, and then back them up as I have done with my digital photos. Unlike digital photos, however, scanning, the photos, slides, and negatives takes more time and effort than simply taking a picture. For the scanning process, I use a tool called VueScan.
