Upgrading and Repairing PCs 20th Edition Review

Many years ago I bought Scott Mueller’s Upgrading and Repairing PCs 13th edition not knowing what I was really buying. It was on sale, so I figured it was worth the money to find out. I was amazed at the mount of information Scott provided in his book. He takes everything that you need to know about computers and compiles it all into a large, hardcover book so you can use this knowledge to help upgrade and repair your own PC.

This year, I found out that Scott was releasing the 20th edition of his book, so I jumped at the chance to purchase it. After a few months of delays, I finally received the book and wondered what I could expect from the latest edition of his well-known book about upgrading and repairing PCs.

  • Samsung SH-B123 Blu-Ray Drive Review

    Samsung SH-B123 Blu-Ray Drive Review

I recently decided to upgrade my DVD-ROM drive for the Samsung SH-B123 blu-ray drive. While I was looking at blu-ray writers as well, I found that I wasn’t going to burn many blu-ray discs in the future, and didn’t want to pay more for a drive that I wouldn’t need. The Samsung SH-B123 drive, however does burn both CD and DVD optical discs, so I still have the ability to burn discs, although I won’t be using it to backup my data.

After performing some research, as well as having a specific price point, I settled on the Samsung SH-B123 blu-ray drive to play blu-ray movies. After spending some time using the drive I was impressed with the drive, but it did come with a minor issue.

    WordPress Plugin Review: BackWPup

The purpose of the BackWPup WordPress plugin is simple: backup your entire WordPress blog. There are many plugins available that can accomplish the goal of backing up your WordPress blog, but to me, BackWPup does things better than most other backup plugins.

I am an advocate of regularly backing up data on my local computer and this same train of thought has also transferred over to managing my blog. I have read many stories of people losing their blog because something bad happened and they don’t have a backup to restore their blog’s data. BackWPup provides you with all the options needed to completely backup your blog automatically.

  • Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray Unlocked Review

Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray Unlocked Review

The Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray is out in the market with both carrier based plans and with unlocked handset. Though, Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray is not something worth locking with any carrier as the price is $300 under contract and retail version costs in between $500$-$700.

Carrier based plans usually offer phone insurance with most of the Sony handsets with that yearly contract.

So If you don’t want to get locked out with any carrier nearby then only option is to get unlocked handset. In my opinion purchasing retail version is much better option If the carrier plans are expensive for your usage.
