What does a company that makes more profit than 160 nations owe their success to? Apple certainly has a well-rounded business with tablets, phones, home computers and various software applications. In fact, they currently outrank companies like Google, Walmart and Microsoft in the U.S. stock market.
The iPad definitely has become a household word since its 2010 release. Currently, the company sells 694 iPads every minute. This staggering figure helps make it clear just how popular their devices are. However, the iPad is not Apple’s biggest moneymaker.
Many are surprised to learn that the iPhone, while having stepped from the spotlight to make room for the iPad, still accounts for 40 percent of the company’s overall revenue. In 2011 alone, Apple sold 72 million iPhones. All of this is augmented with massive sales of games and productivity apps through the Apple store for both the iPad and iPhone. What will the future hold for this impressive company? Only time will tell.
