Link building is one the strategies you must do in SEO if you want to boost the pr of your site and to get quality backlinks.. It also the best strategies to use if you want to drive tons of traffic to your site.

A great way to find quality blogs is by using blog lists to find them, just bare in mind that you shouldn’t spam those blogs.
But make real and good comments thus bringing something to the posts/debate, this will also increase the chance of you getting your comment approved.!

If you are having a hard time finding blogs that will allow you to guest post on their blog, then start out with posting on lower ranking blogs but find the once that has potential. And see it as an investment, you get to post on the blog now in time these links will get more value, but it will also give you something to show blog owners when you contact them..

When some one is asking to guest post on my blog, I always asks them to send me a couple of links to other posts they have written.

Guest posting certainly seems to be the most popular way to drive up hits, or maybe it’s just the most obvious.

As others have commented; whatever avenue one takes, patience is the name of the game. I’ve been working in SEO for a while, and one thing that I always stress to people is that it does not provide overnight results. It’s a small, gradual improvement that won’t change your fortunes on its own. It needs to be coupled with an interesting and attentively run site; otherwise the extra traffic it drums up will be for naught.

  4. Hi Tim,

I have done some guest blogging. And it sure brings in extra traffic that one is able to “steal” from a high authorinty site.

I particularly like the idea of commenting for back links. It fits better for me. And you can learn a lot along the way.

CommentLuv is a great plugin. It sure creates a win-win for the blog site and the commenter. We all like more comment on our sites …… and as commenters back links and or added traffic does’nt hurt one little bit.

    My Best,
    Stephen

  5. Your absolutely right, even it takes a lot of time to build links and increase your website ranking the only way to do it is working hard and using every available tool, you can’t trick a good search engine.

  6. Thank you Tim, for the useful tips! I think these three ways are very important and we should use all of them to gain success and traffic. Guest posting method is my favourite one, cause it’s not only a very effective, but also the most interesting! By writing articles for other blogs, you can make connections with other bloggers and also establish yourself as a good and experienced writer.

These are great ideas. There are so much to learn when it comes to SEO and getting your site into the top spot. However, things shouldn’t become to difficult and confusing especially if we follow tips and ideas written in this post.

Building links is not really an over night success, so I guess if you want your site to be successful, spending time, having a lot of patience and the willingness to learn about SEO are the important factors that you need to be able to reach that high PR rank.

    Thanks for the ideas.

Hi, John. Patience is really the key to building links. Many people seem to expect the links to affect their sites right away, but it can take weeks and months for the true value of the links to be seen.

Guest posting is very helpful for our blogs but of course with a right attitude. There is no point to comment old blogs or blogs with a bad ranking or bad content.

  10. Elizabeth says:

Guest posting is something I need to start doing this year. Posting to relevant on topic blogs seems like one of the best ways to get links, although it also seems it takes the most effort.

    • Paul Salmon says:

I haven’t been active in guest posting myself. I agree that it is a great way of getting links, but as you mentioned it takes quite a bit of effort. The effort, however, can pay off big by guest posting on the right blog.

    • Its so hard to ask for a guest post, some owners even asked for payments, link exchange is okay with me, but payment a dollar or two for every link when all i want is to increase the visibility of my blog…

article submission take a bit more effort since search engines are into original content, so more or less an article can be sent to 10 max, submission site (that’s my rule, i don’t mind if you post it on all article submission site but as for me 10 is good enough per article) better select the best and most trusted sites.

on the other hand, link building is something that is more easier than asking for a permission to guest post, there are several bookmarking sites that lets you post your url, thus you are spreading your links,

      • Jimmy says:

Posting your article to 10 different websites isn’t something I would recommend, because it’s double content and it can get you sandboxed.!!
When the first website has gotten the article indexed by Google, the rest are labeled as non quality or double content.

This can get the article database de-indexed by Google, as it did with articlebase and e few others in December. So that’s not a good thing, and if you are really unlucky it can even get your own website sandboxed.
