The second method involes actually logging into the router’s administrative pages. Obviously, if you forgot the router’s password, you will need to use the first method to reset the router.

  1. Open a web browser and navigate to, or whatever the IP address of your router.
  2. Enter the user name and password for the router.
  3. Select “Administration” from the top menu, and then select “Factory Defaults” from the submenu.
  4. Click the “Restore Factory Defaults” button.
  5. In the popup message window, click the “OK” button.

    Hi there, my e4200 is fast blinking (so it is in some kind of error status) and none of the above can reset it. It looks like it doesn’t even emit any wifi signal. Can anybody help please?

    Most routers have a button on the bottom of them that allows you to reset them with easy.

      Most routers do have a physical reset button to help reset the router to solve issues. If the button isn’t located on the bottom, it is on the back near the network ports.
