How to Implement an Email Marketing Campaign

Email promoting is a relatively easy, inexpensive and productive method for modern businesses to stay in touch with their clients and also increase their particular incomes. For instance, a newsletter helps you communicate messages in your organization while at the same time demonstrating your own depth and experience, your greatest resource for your business. Distributing an email newsletter ensures that your company remains in the thoughts of your expanding network. In addition, good email newsletters are normally sent to friends of the receiver of the mail, thus expanding the network even further.

Is the Landline Heading for Extinction?

As soon as mobile technology became available to the masses, many commentators began predicting the death of the landline. A few years ago, the idea that landlines would be obsolete by 2011 would have seemed entirely plausible. Market penetration for mobile phones in the UK is already well over 100% (there’s more than 1 mobile phone for every person), and many people do use mobiles for all their personal calls. Even if landlines disappear completely from people’s homes, however, it may take a lot longer for the corporate world to phase out business phone lines.

A Simple Guide To The Tech Behind Online Video

H264 has been the bratty high school cheerleader for a while now; it’s popular just because it is. It produces very small compact file sizes (no one likes a fat cheer leader) and it doesn’t compromise on quality (no one likes an ugly cheer leader either). Like any popular cheerleader, this codec also comes with a trust fund and some very over protective parents. Okay the analogy is starting to get silly now.

  • Glasses-Free 3D Products

    Glasses-Free 3D Products

We all love the 3D theatre experience, but the glasses can be a pain, so finding glasses-free 3D products can be important. It’s a good thing we watch movies in the dark because we look ridiculous. The glasses themselves are not only uncomfortable, but when using them with home theatre systems they can easily become lost or broken. When will we be able to enjoy 3D without having to wear these ugly spectacles?

Manufacturers are currently racing to bring the first eyeglass-free 3D technologies to the American consumer market. The scientific name for this technology is called “autostereoscopy.” Several types of products featuring autostereoscopic displays will soon be in stores, including cameras, cell phones, camcorders, smartphones, game systems, and laptops. Here are a few that are expected to be available this year.

    Nintendo 3DS

    Nintendo 3DS

Expected to launch later this month, this glasses-free 3D game system features not only a 3D screen, but also stereo cameras that enable you to take your own 3D photos. The package will include several new interfaces, including motion and gyro sensors, and the Circle Pad: a round input device. There will be a control allowing you to fine-tune the 3D effects to suit your personal preference. The Nintendo 3DS will be able to detect WiFi networks in range so you can exchange game data with other 3DS systems online. It is expected to retail for around $250 USD, and 20 different games will be released within a few months of the launch date, including:

    • The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D
    • LEGO StarWars III: The Clone Wars
    • Madden NFL Football
    • Resident Evil: Mercenaries 3DS
    • Ridge Racer 3DS
    • The Sims 3
    • Star Fox 64 3D

    LG Optimus 3D Smartphone

    LG Optimus 3D Smartphone

This phone was unveiled at this year’s Mobile World Congress technology show in Barcelona. It features a 4.3” autostereoscopic display and dual-core 1 GHz OMAP4 processor, both groundbreaking technologies for smartphones. Similar to the Nintendo DS3, the Optimus includes a five megapixel camera that will allow you to take your own 3D pictures and videos. It will be powered by Google’s Android 2.2 Froyo, but you’ll be able to change to Gingerbread 2.3 if you prefer. It is expected to hit the European market later this year. The release date and pricing information for American consumers have yet to be announced.

    Gaming Laptop Asus ROG G53

American gaming enthusiasts are still anxiously awaiting the release of this laptop in the states, which was unveiled at last year’s Computex show. It was released in Europe late last year, but has yet to reach the US market. While you’re playing your favorite game, this laptop is actually keeping an eye on you, thanks to its advanced eye-tracking system.

This technology monitors where you are in relation to the 15-inch screen, thereby delivering a glasses-free 3D experience from any angle. This laptop is powered by an Intel i7 2.66 GHz processor, and comes bundled with a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560M graphics card, 120 Hz LED-backlit display, and up to 16 GB of DDR3 memory. European models ranged in price from €1,899-2,199 (approximately $2,650-3,100 USD).

The above items allow you to enjoy 3D games and movies easily since they are glasses-free 3D products.

  • Five Main Types of Rechargeable Batteries

Five Main Types of Rechargeable Batteries

At present, there are five main types of rechargeable batteries that are commonly available for use in place of disposable batteries in electronic equipment. Each has its advantages and disadvantages, but for most uses at least one type can be counted on to save money and preserve the environment when used to replace a typical single-use battery.

    1. Nickel-Cadmium (NiCad) Batteries

Still synonymous with rechargeable batteries among older users who remember when these were the only rechargeable batteries available, NiCad batteries are rarely sold due to restrictions on poisonous cadmium that is used in their manufacture. However, NiCad batteries are still in use for low-drain applications, even if users are being forced to replace them once they no longer hold a charge.

    2. Nickel-Metal Hydride (NiMH) Batteries

The earliest successors to NiCad batteries, these commonly used and relatively inexpensive batteries are also the batteries that power most hybrid and electric vehicles. They can be relied on for most applications, but older batteries which have problems with self-discharge should never be used in smoke detectors as they can suddenly run out of power and leave you unprotected.

    3. Nickel-Zinc (NiZn) Batteries

One of the newest types of rechargeable batteries for consumers, NiZn batteries are recommended for high-drain applications such as flashlights and outdoor equipment. The AA size NiZN batteries produce 1.6 volts which is higher than the voltage of disposable batteries as well as of NiMH batteries, which allows for better performance in motorized and light emitting equipment.

    4. Lithium Ion (Li-ion) Batteries

Li-ion batteries are sold as replacements for camera batteries, and they are also the most common batteries used in laptop computers. Because they are easy to manufacture in different shapes, they are becoming the standard for use in personal electronics, and a built-in battery protection circuit keeps the battery operating safely and prevents overcharge.

    5. Rechargeable Alkaline Batteries

Less common than other types of batteries, rechargeable alkaline batteries are similar to single-use alkaline batteries but have a chemical composition that allow them to be recharged. They are best used in low-drain applications, but once charged they are known to hold their charge for longer than other types of rechargeable batteries. This makes them ideal to have available for backup or emergency use.

In general, using rechargeable batteries of any of these types is highly recommended, but batteries should be periodically tested when not in active use to make sure that they have not discharged. In addition, when replacing NiCad batteries with more modern batteries, it is best to buy a new charger as well.

How to Become a Techie: Understand Don’t Memorize

Back in college I had taken several computer programming languages. I had the opportunity (at times I use that term loosely) to learn COBOL, RPG, Visual Basic, C, Assembler, and the markup language called HTML. This was over ten years ago, so many of the languages used today, such as C# weren’t around then.

I remember the first time I had to write an exam in one of those languages. It came as a surprise to learn that the exam was open book. In face, pretty much all exams for the programming languages were open book. After thinking about that for a moment I realized why they were open book.

  • What Firefox Add-ons Do You Use?

I don’t write many posts about Firefox, mainly because there are many posts written on other blogs that do. In my post titled Examples of Colour Management I provide examples of how colour management affects the displaying of images. For those examples I used the Firefox web browser.

Also within that post I talked about a Firefox add-on called Colour Management. This is only one of possibly thousands of add-ons that you can install for the Firefox browser. In this post I will list the add-ons that I currently use, and have used in the past, and would like to hear which add-ons you currently have installed.
