iPad Tricks that Business Users Should Know

For most common users, Apple’s iPad provides a means for consuming content, and for that matter anything – music, video and text. As a business user, you may want to put the iPad to better use. Apple’s documentation, though elaborate, throws little light on how an iPad can be used to enhance your performance in a business environment. Business users hit upon some features accidentally and use those features, or simply miss them entirely. Smart business users however, take time off to discover features and abilities in the iPad to make it work harder for them.

The iPad has features that make it ideal for sharing data with personal computers and services that use the web. Some users discover features for themselves but it usually comes too late. The Mobile Workstyle [Infographic]

The infographic displayed below explains how mobile devices are changing the way we work. A variety of new devices and services are empowering the mobile worker to work, where, when and how he or she chooses to work.

According to a Cisco study on the international workplace, the mobile work force is now business as usual for enterprises around the world. About 3 out of 5 workers say that they don’t need to be in the office to be more productive, so that is a very good sign. The usage of mobile is increasing on a daily basis now, with 32 percent of employees globally now relying on more than one mobile device during the typical workday. So, mobiles have really changed the way we work, and in the coming days, mobile devices will have more impact on our lives.

According to a survey by Unisys and IDC, many IT departments are providing workers with mobile devices for work, but many workers have reported that they have supplied their own devices. About 87 percent of IT managers say companies provide workers with mobile phones and cover costs, but more than half of employees with iPhones, Android phones, and iPads reported that they purchased the devices themselves.

    The Rise Of Mobile Email

Mobile email is booming, enabling the growth of the mobile workforce. According to comscore about 78 percent of the people who have smartphones use their mobile phones to send emails. These stats are increasing on daily basis, which points to tablets and smartphones becoming the main form of email communication in the future.
