If you are thinking about becoming a successful blogger, then you would first need to realize that it doesn’t happen overnight. It takes many years of hard work to achieve success has a blogger.
A lot of people seem to think that starting up a blog is easy and it immediately means they are going to see a steady increase of traffic appearing within weeks when this is just not going to happen (if you are doing things legitimately). A lot of start ups will not see increase in traffic and then give up all hope, after all what is the point in spending hours creating great content that no one is reading right? Have patience, the visits will come and the interaction will arrive so here are a few tips on becoming a successful blogger.
Becoming a Successful Blogger Requires an Interesting Blog
Although most people will be writing about a subject that interests them you need to think about the niche you are writing for. Are people really going to be interested in a site that just discusses the things that happen in your life? Not unless you make it really interesting to read. There is nothing wrong with writing about what happens to you from time to time but try and stick to the audience you are writing for as much as possible.
Don’t Worry About Becoming a Successful Blogger
Try not to worry about how stupid the niche you are writing for is as it doesn’t make a difference. Sure a blog on SEO and Social Media will attract a lot of visits but that doesn’t mean a blog that is all about knitting is not going to get dedicated readers over time that hang on to your every word. For me it is not about the numbers but the interaction!
Making Contacts
Creating contacts is also something you should be doing and in order to do this you should be using social media platforms like Twitter as well as doing searches for blogs out there that are similar to yours. Once you have met these people you can share posts, ideas and even get to know one another and become buddies. Once you are in with these people they will send your posts to their friends (providing you do the same for them) and will come onto your blog to comment and get a bit more involved.
Being nice to these people and doing favours for them initially is the best way to gain contacts that are going to benefit you in the long run to becoming a successful blogger.
Making Time
We all know that running a blog takes time and you need to be planning on putting a piece out every single day of the week. By piece I am talking about something that is actually worth reading and not something full of spelling mistakes and very short (I am guilty of this). It is tough having a full time job and a life as well as trying to write blog posts that are interesting and engaging everyday of the week. If you want to start becoming a successful blogger it simply has to be done. On top of this you need to make time for answering comments and perhaps even gaining links and traction to the site too.
The key thing to remember when it comes to blogging is to make sure you have the time free to commit to the blog, if you don’t even have this then you shouldn’t be thinking about a blog. Also remember that good results take time but when they arrive they are very rewarding, and you can stop worrying about becoming a successful blogger, and start being one.
