The State Of SEO Marketing Is in Jeopardy

SEO

Many years ago we could write a piece of content and post it online and maybe do a little SEO marketing and over night we could be number one. There was no struggle in getting content online because this was around the time when blogs and wordpress was like none existence.

The State Of SEO Marketing Is in Jeopardy

So the internet was only getting content from those people who really was trying to add value to the search engines. The search engines were not new at that time but was young enough to not know what was coming down the road. Because back then you really had to know your stuff about meta tags, keyword placement and most importantly how to get some links.

This form of work took time and like I said, only those who where really down to making good content were the ones who benefitted from it. People were able to build excellent content and reap the rewards of top rankings. I was around at this time but I was mainly doing other forms of marketing and not focusing too much on SEO marketing.

Fast Forward To 2005

This was the year that many people really started using this new thing called wordpress which made it easy to produce content at a faster rate. Now came the spammers who just wanted to copy other people content on to their wordpress blogs and republish them. So when thousands or millions of people start doing this then you bet the search engines will become effected with garbage content and those who are looking to just rank with little effort.

So this is where the revolution of SEO started to get very competitive if it wasn’t already. Google started removing websites that contain duplicate content and pushing down those that served no purpose then just to spam people. Then some years later they started to implement the panda effect which started to effect sites like EzineArticles which got hit hard.

Even after that the search engines were not finish yet because they seem to be on another mission to help minimize the garbage type websites out there that serves no purpose to the readers. This leads me to the question…is SEO marketing in jeopardy of being wipeout?

Chill Out People

When I started my SEO marketing series sometime back to educate people on the process of SEO and the way to understand it better. I was mainly trying to reach people in a way so they could be aware about this form of marketing and how to use it to the fullest.

So those people who say SEO doesn’t work any more and the search engines are only ranking popular website that has been online for years and disregarding new content. Then I will say your out of your mind because SEO is as alive as the world today. Yes its true that SEO has took a path that most of use people wish it didn’t, but I’m happy for all the changes because now all the spammers are getting frustrated.

Its not that easy to just setup a website and add a couple of pages and all of sudden you have traffic. Google and Yahoo are making things a little harder on us SEO people but I must tell you this. What don’t kill us will make us stronger in the form of really getting down to work on implementing SEO in the right way.

So just because you see signs of websites ranking dropping and bouncing all over the internet. Then this doesn’t means SEO is in jeopardy, it just means the search engines have a different approach and we must adapt to the changes. So don’t give up on SEO because it works and those who work hard at it are the ones that reap the benefits.
