As smart phones get fancier and more advanced, the battery life seems to dwindle away, having to power all of the different apps and widgets that are available. Suddenly your phone isn’t as portable as it should be. But there are many gadgets and accessories out there to help cell phone batteries last longer.
PowerSkin
PowerSkin is a protective case that has a built in, rechargeable battery, which gives your phone twice the battery life. However, it does add some weight and thickness to your cell phone but you can either leave it on all the time or put it on only when your regular phone battery is getting low.

Solar Power
Solar powered charges are great for those who like to travel or spend a lot of time in the outdoors and don’t necessarily have a place to plug in their cell phone charger. You can set them on the dash of your car or out in the open and let the sunlight charge your phone for you. They are great for emergency situations and also for the environment.

Energizer Battery Power
This product is also useful in situations where you can’t plug in a normal cell phone charger. It is the Energizer Energi To Go Instant Cell Phone Charger. Long name but an amazing product. It takes the power of two AA batteries and uses it to charge your cell phone.

Get Rid of Cluttered Cords
Duracell also has a product out there that is quite different than Energizer’s idea. This does require an AC outlet but it allows you to charge multiple devices at once. It is the Duracell myGrid Cell Phone Charge Pad. It is very slim and compact but big enough to allow three or four devices to charge at once.

iPhone Companion
The Mophie Juice Pack is very similar to the PowerSkin except that it is only compatible with iPhones. There are many different versions and colors to choose from that allow your iPhone to have a protective case as well as extended battery life.

With the kind of IT work that I do, I have to always have to be connect to my clients. Right now, I do not own a smart phone, I do however have my email access on my phone and that can drain my battery pretty fast. Having a car charger isn’t always ideal. I have seen some of these battery tools and I know couple of consultants that live on their smartphones and iPads and they have to carry extra batteries chargers and even some of these battery tools
One of them even carries a powerskin. He doesn’t like it because it makes the phone heavier and bulky. But he won’t get rid of it. Its reliable and keeps his phone up and running longer than the standard battery.
