    Facebook is the place to talk with friends, share photos and catch up with old acquaintances, but you shouldn’t have to deal with Facebook viruses. Unfortunately it’s also the place to get infected with computer malware. The most well-known recent infection was the Koobface worm, seen at first as a video offer.

    “Check out this Paris Hilton video!”

    “I caught you on a secret cam!”

    Click on the video attachment, and you get instructions to load a viewer for the video, usually Flash Player. If you agree to download the viewer, your computer gets infected with all sorts of nasty things.

    A few months ago I joined a community that allows me to share my blog posts to a much larger community, while at the same time meeting new bloggers. The community is Blog Engage is is a great service to register with if you manage a blog.

    When I first started I didn’t know what to expect, so I did spend some time learning the ropes. At first I thought it was just another blog-related community, where members come, talk about everything under the sun, and then leave. I eventually learned it was a way to share the content of your blog easily, and effortlessly.

    Christopher Poole, founder of 4chan has launched a debate while speaking at the SXSW interactive conference over the weekend by telling his audience that Facebook is ‘totally wrong’ when it comes to online identity. Mark Zuckerberg, and by extension Facebook, maintains that an individual have only one identity which should follow one around from site to site (some might suggest this demonstrates what a sheltered existence Mr Zuckerberg has led up to this point but more on that later).
