Macintosh Applications for Small Business

Apple Mac

The subject of small business involves many aspects. Traditionally, small business is known to be a considerable part of any separate countries’ economics in general, and millions of people are involved into it.

And not in vain – after thorough thinking we have to confess that small business has a few very significant pluses that make it much more profitable than many kinds of regular employment, and by simplicity and amount of income a few different spheres of small business bring larger profit and less headache than a single sphere of middle-sized business.

Macintosh Applications for Small Business

Due to all these facts, small business is present in different forms practically everywhere, and many people are involved into it.

Because of the higher level of security, many of small business owners prefer Mac OS X and Apple’s computers – since they store on them all accounting, financial, personal and strategic information. It’s a pity, but still not one version of Windows OS is able to deliver a half of the security that Mac OS X does.

That’s why Apples (and especially their MacBooks versions) are so popular among small business entrepreneurs.

But there are a few other reasons, because of which Mac s are popular among businessmen. Apart from unprecedented level of data security, Macbooks offer a few nice applications for small businesses.

One of most popular among them is MYOB Account Edge. Rather complicated, but still really effective program which is available in both single and network editions. Tracking working time, automatizing of any payment processes (both banking and on-line), bill payments and many other useful features are available in it.

It’s strongly advised to appreciate it, though the trial version is not complete. A considerable minus of this program is its difficultness – in order to understand it clearly, install and start working you will have to spend a couple of days exploring its abilities. But once it is installed – the program is really awesome and quite universal.

Another successful, but much more straightforward and user-friendly variant is MoneyWorks Gold. It will be an ideal application for those who have an internet store or any business, requiring a real-time work with a database.

You can fully control the inventory; watch the incoming and outgoing payments, multi-user maintenance and networking, currency adjustments and a lot of other useful tools for those who keep control of their business, and moreover – who want to control it remotely. Personally I did work with this software and I can tell it’s really good – I haven’t noticed any minuses at all.

The next one is QuickBooks Online – as you understand from the title, it’s a web-based program. It’s even available free of charge with its basic package, but still that package offers a great variety of tools, comparable to those which have been described in the above mentioned two applications.

The set of tools goes from minimum (free version) to maximum 35 $ per month. The software is good for certain specific kinds of businesses, it’s advisable to check out the free version before buying – you may either adore it or completely ignore – it will depend upon the tasks you’re going to perform.

Also a nice variant for those who perform design of their own site or anything related is a free graphical redactor program called GIMP. It’s actually a full-working alternative to CS Photoshop, but it’s absolutely free and there are no limitations for its usage.

A good piece of advice is to search for topical forums and check out the info displayed by users there – very often it’s extremely useful for those who take part in their own small business, and as a rule such users are ready to share their knowledge concerning the usage of different software for Macs.
