Ever since I started blogging, I have always been fascinated with blogging communities. The problem is that there are probably hundreds of them online, and many of them aren’t worth the trouble of joining. All require some sort of registration process, and then you need to verify your blog, and or display some image somewhere on you pages.
In order to avoid making my blog look like a mess of small little images, I simply dropped many of the blogging communities like a bad habit. Recently, however, I was reading Basic Blog Tips (if you are a new blogger, you should check it out), and noticed Ileane (the author) mentioned a blogging community called BloggerLuv. I decided to check it out.
Why Join BloggerLuv?
To put it simply, BloggerLuv is a blogging community, created by and run/managed (at the moment) by John Sullivan. What he has created is a community of great bloggers who promote, share, chat, and help others with blogging.
This means that whether you are new to blogging, or have been blogging for many years, you will be able to benefit from joining BloggerLuv. The registration process is simple and no image, or validation is required to be placed on your blog.
Note:
When joining BloggerLuv, ensure your user ID matches your Twitter ID. I had to delete my account and re-sign up with the user ID that matched my Twitter ID.
Once you join, you will find many great bloggers that share the same passion about blogging as you do. If you have an issue with your blog, you can ask, and someone will probably provide some help.
The best part about BloggerLuv is the ability to promote not only yourself as a blogger, but also your blog. You can submit posts from your blog to the BloggerLuv community, that can help you, not only obtain feedback, but also visitors. The post links you submit to BloggerLuv are dofollow links, unlike many blogging communities.
As you submit links to your posts, so will the other bloggers who have joined the community, so you will be able to read and comment on posts that you may not have read before.
With all that is mentioned above, I do have some minor issues with BloggerLuv. The first one being that the site isn’t exactly well designed, and does lack a certain flow. After I first signed up, it took a little bit for me to become familiar with the site as a whole. I wasn’t sure what I was to do as I couldn’t find any help on the site.
The second issue I have is that the BloggerLuv community site – where you submit your posts – requires a second, additional, login ID to access it. While this isn’t a major concern, it can be tedious to log into both sites each time.
The above two issues are really minor compared to the benefits of joining BloggerLuv. If you own a blog, I highly recommend you join the BloggerLuv community.

I am new to blogging and joined bloggerluv too. That’s how I found your site. It has been great getting to know other bloggers and so many have visited my site, commented and even helped me with techie problems that I had. I love being part of the community and as it grows I am sure it will have an even greater impact on our web presence; especially as there are so many experienced bloggers there. John is very generous with his time and encouragement too.

Paul, I feel you on this one. I started blogging in 2005 on an awesome blogging community website. When that site closed down, I felt like someone had snatched me from a family reunion barbecue and stuck me in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.
No other community measured up until Ileane invited me to join BloggerLuv. After that, everything you wrote happened to me, too. The only thing I haven’t done yet is join the second login. I visited it and, until someone does a tutorial, I’m going to skirt that
I took forever to figure out and/or get answers to the navigation of the main site.
Never mind that: the PEOPLE rock and the food is delicious at this shindig!

I found out about BloggerLuv from Ileane as well. She certainly does have a way of convincing people to join the BloggerLuv comunity. I was curious about the community portion of the site. It is great since you can submit your links to your blog posts there.

Hey Paul, thanks for the mention. It’s great to belong to a community that’s so supportive! I’m glad you joined and I see that you are one of the top contributors on the community bookmarking page. I had John laughing the other day because I think you are ahead of both of us over there.

I’m not familiar with any events that occurred, but I think the BloggerLuv community is great. Haven’t seen any problems with any of the members, or owner.

Bloggerluv is something I have not heard about until now, and I’m glad I did. Exposure is important and I think bloggerluv is perfect.
