Over Optimization Of Sites – DOs and DON’Ts

How would you feel if you were looking for ‘pizza shops in Dallas’ and reached a site with a tutorial to make a strange named mock-tail with the keyword ‘pizza shops in dallas’ thrown here and there? Of course you won’t react in a positive way as you didn’t get what you want and you’ll have to start the search over again from the beginning; unless, well if you were looking for a mock-tail to go with your Pizza!

Google also (claims to) understands it and is constantly trying to provide users with good results which the users are actually interested in and not some over optimized irrelevant site. Bye Bye IPv4 – Hello IPv6

The day came and went without much fanfare. I’m not talking about my recent birthday but the February 3rd 2011 “D-Day” when the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority released its 5 last octets (/8 blocks) to each Regional Internet Registry. For those of you in love with the simplicity of the IPv4 sequence, this is a sad time and you may be shrugging off internalizing the change. It’s time to face your demons, look IPv6 right in the face and say “Ok, I’m Ready. I will no longer ignore ICMP. I know you are better and use ICMPv6 for many critical functions. I love and appreciate you.” So what’s the deal with this new internet address? Does it just mean a longer number sequence or is there something more. Well, here’s the skinny. Read the following points well as they are your future.

  • Finding Your Blogger Blog’s Sitemap

Adding a sitemap to Google’s Webmaster tools is one of the first tips you will be told to do when you first manage a web site or blog. It is an easy process to do, and you can get many benefits from it, such as monitoring how Google is indexing your pages, the external and internal links it finds, and any problems Google may find with indexing your site.

For Blogger users, the sitemap to your blog may not be easy to find. Blogger does have a built-in tool that can help you add your sitemap, but if other services can use a sitemap, you may want to know where the sitemap is located. The good news, is that it is easy to find.

  • How to Organize Your Digital Photos

If you are like me, then you probably have thousands of digital photos stored on CDs/DVDs or a hard drive. There doesn’t appear to be any problems with the way you store you digital photos, until you need to find a specific one. At this point you remember how you stored your old printed photos in a shoebox in a closet somewhere and had no idea where a photo could be found.

In this post I’ll explain the method I use to organize my digital photos in an easy and efficient manner. I am able to find a specific photo or all photos of someone within a few minutes, if not seconds.
