When it comes to producing high quality television programming, the established television networks are no longer in charge. Many of today’s top TV shows such as House of Cards, Orange is the New Black, Community and The Mindy Project are being produced by non-network producers.

Technology companies like Netflix and Amazon have begun to take on more of the roles and functions that once belonged to networks and media conglomerates, with many of these companies going on to ‘rescue’ cancelled network TV shows.
