Are You Ready For The Re-incarnation Of Ultrabooks?

Have you ever discovered the difference between a laptop and an ultrabook? If the answer is a ‘No’, there is no need to be embarrassed about it, as it is really difficult to distinguish between the two. Ultrabook is usually, a bit thinner and glossier than a laptop. These are petty differences, which is why people mistake an ultrabook as a laptop. This is one of the major reasons behind the low sales of ultrabooks, since they have been introduced in 2011.

However, the developers have challenged that the ultrabook sales will be up by 2013, with the technological changes they are going to include. Although, they have not revealed all the changes, but there could be a few prominent changes that we can talk about. So, have a look at them.

Ultrabook

Wireless Charging Technology for Smartphones

Wireless Charging

It is in the air that, if you have a smartphone, which is powered by Intel, then you can charge it without the need of physically connecting it with your ultrabook. This wireless charging technology is called “resonance”.

Voice control

Voice Control

Intel has revealed that they have joined hands with Nuance (a voice software vendor), recently at a developer conference. This has been done to provide voice searches, in the new incarnation of ultrabooks. This will render the users to control their computing devices, just by speaking to their systems instead of typing on keyboard and scrolling the mouse. It would be an entirely new experience for the users of desktop based systems.

This voice recognition software will be prompted by ‘Hello Dragon’.

Efficient Power Displays

IGZO Technology

Intel is in talks with a company called ‘Sharp’, to improve the display technology of their ultrabooks. Sharp will be providing the LCD display for their ultrabooks, which will make use of IGZO technology. Using this technology will enable an efficient consumption of power. This will, in turn, enhance the life of the battery.

Extended SSD

Intel SSD

Until recently, it was out of question to ship ultrabooks that have SSD of capacity more than 512 GB; it was because of mSATA specification and the format of storage that was supported by SSD. However, Intel has accepted that they are trying to enhance the capacity of SSD, by making it 1TB. Isn’t that great news!
The technical changes revealed by Intel, to up-rank the ultrabooks, are turning the heads of the users and everyone is looking forward to see a better generation of ultrabooks.
