Samsung has confirmed the Galaxy Nexus, the first smartphone to run Android 4.0, will launch in the UK on 17 November.
After the phenomenal success of its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy SII, the manufacturer will be hoping the new device will attract the same level of headlines and anticipation.
The Nexus will have a 4.65 inch Super AMOLED HD screen with a 1280 x 720 resolution.
There is a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor with 1GB of RAM. The device will be available with either 16GB or 32GB of internal storage.

Android 4.0, codenamed Ice Cream Sandwich, comes with a range of new features including Face Recognition to unlock the phone, Near Field Communication to share information via the Android Beam and LTE connectivity.
So far the price of Galaxy Nexus deals has been confirmed only by Phones4U and Amazon.
Carriers in the UK will include O2, Vodafone and Three. At its launch in Hong Kong the Nexus was shown using technologies by AT&T and T-Mobile suggesting both those carriers and Orange will make the smartphone available as well.
Phones4U, who had published simply a holding page describing the features of the Galaxy Nexus with information suggesting that a 24 month contract will go for around £41 a month. Amazon is offering a 16GB SIM-free Galaxy Nexus for £550.
At o2, a holding page suggests the Galaxy Nexus pricing plan is coming soon, along with the HTC Sensation XL and Motorola Razr.
In the US, Verizon was announced as the first carrier for the device. The firm has said they will make it available on their LTE network later in the year.
The initial announcement suggested Verizon will be an exclusive carrier for the nexus in the US.
In Japan, telecoms carrier NTT DoCoMo revealed themselves to be one of the carriers for the new smartphone inadvertently, when they accidentally tweeted news of the release date of the device in Hong Kong ahead of Samsung.
Selling the device exclusively in Asia will give the firm a major headstart on their rivals.
The Galaxy Nexus will also be available in Norway and Canada by mid-November.
It will then launch in Denmark, Finland and Sweden before the end of the month.
Prices in each of those countries have been announced as 4400 DKK, 649 EUR and 5500 SEK.

Well for me I’d rather choose iphone than this nexus phone for the reason that iphone have everything already. Everything that you are looking for is in iPhone already.

I just got an Android phone and found that it had everything that I needed already installed.

I like my Android phone, but the iPhone is still a good phone. I probably won’t switch from an Android to an iPhone, though.

So another smartphone is releasing from Samsung. Samsung is the leader of smartphones no doubt about it and as far as it cost is concerned it’s too costly for me.

With each new release of a smartphone from Samsung, the price usually goes down for the previous generation. I am not too concerned with having the latest and greatest in smartphones, anyway.

Competition is really tough in smartphone market, I personally feel whoever will offer smartphones in less price will have edge over others.

Competition is good for the consumer in the end. The more competition, the better.

Taking into account competition that exists on the mobile market, its price shouldn’t be too high… At least, I hope so)

It is another attempt of Google to attract the consumers after their previous smarphones that weren’t too good in the market. The Galaxy Nexus seems great with ICS that offers some improvements over the predecessor.. Let’s wait and see how how the Galaxy Nexus stack up..

Every smartphone seems to have problems, but I still find Android phones to be good phones. Also, Google isn’t creating the Galaxy Nexus, they are created by Samsung, who uses Google’s OS in their phones.

And yet another ridiculously overpriced smartphone. It amazes me that even this deep in a recession people can find the disposable income to waste on products like this.
