While all you really need is an internet connection, a PC and a monitor to watch Internet TV, there are now a number of products on the market that can make the experience easier and more streamlined.
There are standalone boxes, like Slingbox, that can be hooked up directly to your television, converting your broadband signal.
There is also software that can be purchased that gathers content from all over the Internet.

Slingbox
Slingbox is smaller than a DVD player and uses a network router to connect the computer to the television.
Once you have purchased the device, there are no further monthly charges.
Just be sure that your internet provider does not charge by kilobyte used or you could find your charges increasing. Slingbox SOLO is the most basic device, while Slingbox PRO-HD is available if you want high-definition quality.
Before choosing this version, make sure your television has HD capability.
Roku
The Roku is another device that makes it possible to stream internet programming to your television without using a computer.
Roku also creates content channels that users can subscribe to.
The Roku HD can play 720p high definition video and is the basic model.
The Roku XD can play 1080p HD video and the premium Roku XDS adds a USB port for viewing non-streaming videos and component audio and video outputs.
Other Devices for Watching Internet TV
Devices similar to Roku are Apple TV and the Logitech Revue.
They function in a similar way, although with different hardware.
If you play video games, you may already have what you need to stream video.
The Wii, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 are all capable of streaming video directly to your television.
Be sure to find out if you need any additional subscriptions, however.
If you are technically savvy, you can probably set up a home theater system based around your own PC.
If you have an HDTV, it will probably have a PC connection already.
When it comes to systems requirements, all of the devices above will require the same things.
You will need a high-speed internet connection of at least 1Mbps.
Anything lower will not be fast enough to make watching video enjoyable.
If you can get a connection of 5 Mbps you should have the optimal viewing experience.
If you are using a PC, processing speed should be at least 1 GHz with a multi-core processor.
Even though anyone with a PC, a monitor and a high-speed internet connection can enjoy Internet TV, there are a number of devices on the market that can make the process even easier and more enjoyable.
Devices like Slingbox and Roku make it possible to stream video to your television without using a computer, while AppleTV and Logitech Revue provide similar services.
You may also find that game consoles you already have can provide this same service.
Many newer HDTVs also make it possible to connect directly to your PC.
No matter what kind of hardware you have, you will find you have many different ways to watch internet TV.

What i really don’t understand reading the post (unfortunately i don’t have to visit every product for further details) is if this gadgets work on every TV or you have to get some special TV in order to use them.

I believe it depends on what inputs are available on your TV. Each device will usually list the outputs it provides, and you will just need to ensure that you have the correct inputs on your TV that matches those outputs. If you do, then the device should work with your TV.

Right now it seems like Movable Type is the top blogging platform out there right now. (from what I’ve read) Is that what you’re using on your blog?
