Features of Sprint TEP

There are several protective features offered by Sprint TEP, including:

• Provides a method for you to synchronize your contacts.
• Allows you to have you wipe your phone remotely to ensure your data remains private.
• Locks your phone to prevent others from gaining access to it.
• Sounds an alarm on your phone.

The best part about this application is that as a Sprint TEP customer, you can be up and running in just a few minutes – at no additional cost.

The main point that I would like to stress here is that the Sprint Total Equipment Protection App provides a way for you to located your lost phone,  or protect your by preventing someone from stealing or deleting the data from your phone.

Enrolling in TEP

For a limited time, Sprint customers that didn’t enroll in TEP within 30 days of activating their phone, can do so until August 30th.  Until August 30th, any Sprint customer can add the Total Equipment Protection feature to their phone, with additional features.

These features include a quick and convenient way to replace their phone if it is every lost, stolen, or damage.  Also, the phone will also be replaced if it malfunctions after the warranty expires.

The cost of using TEP is $8.00 per month, and the Protection App that is included with TEP is included at no additional cost. This app sounds an audible alarm that helps you find a misplaced phone, locates your phone on a map using a network integrated GPS, remotely lock your phone, as well as wirelessly allow you to sync, manage, and restore your contacts.

There is a required deductible of either $50 or $100 for approved claims should you need to file a claim. While this may seem high, just think about the price of a new, non-contract phone and the deductible to have your phone replaced seems low.
