I learned the hard way about the importance of backing up files when my hard drive crashed a few months ago. Unfortunately I hadn't backed up any of my files and lost all my data on the hard drive. I backup my data regularily now using the Backup utility in Windows Vista. By the way, your directions for locating and using the Windows Backup utility work for Windows Vista as well.
