Great information. Is it safe to change your permalink structure once you already have posts out there? I was always under the impression that doing so would break any existing links to the relevant pages. I have obviously missed something. I would like to change the structure on my site but I am too scared to attempt it.
If you are still using the default, then when a link with the previous permalink is click the visitor will be redirectd to the new permalink.
You can easily change the structure, and if you find something that breaks, you can always go back to the previous one.
I agree Paul. I see far too many well-written blogs going to waste because of they are not SEO’ed properly with permalinks.
This is very helpful information thank you very much
Hi, what if I’m sub hosted by another blogger under wordpress, how can I change my permalink?
@Malaya: If your are the administrator of the blog you should be able to change the permalinks, but if you are not, you could contact the administrator and have them change it for you.
